I tried many different weight loss “solutions” and despite going to the gym & eating better, it just wasn’t yielding the results I wanted because I was never able to find a routine I can stick with.
Gio is a wonderful trainer and person overall. The love, commitment and personal connection she makes with all her clients is like no other. Her knowledge and experience was the remedy that made me come back to her for more, but it was the new family I gained and the diversity of our group that made it really stick. First I was a client at Groundwork Fitness. I was taking a Mommy and Me class with my son. I immediately fell in love with this space, it’s coaches and the clientele. My strength and fitness level by far superseded my initial goal. Soon after I was hooked and I am now part of the Coaching team. I love coaching group fitness as it is where I began three years ago.

As I started personal training more and more in Long Beach it became evident that Groundwork Fitness was going to end up as my home gym. I wanted to train in an environment that I could explore new ideas and teach high quality personal training that progresses all clients appropriately. I can’t wait to meet more Long Beach locals and get them to enjoy exercise in a way they never thought they could.

As a Fitness Coach I hope to inspire humans to stop using excuses as to why they can’t workout. Simplify, execute and repeat. I walk, sometimes run and play regularly. I also eat healthy, get plenty of sleep and drink water. Indeed moderation to eating balanced meals is key, even I occasionally slip up and eat garbage. Again it always comes down to moderation!
Aerial Instructor and owner of Aerial Butterflies, LLC.
HJ is a Long Beach native. She competed in gymnastics at Millikan HS and has coached for over 20 years. She started her aerial journey in 2008 and began performing in 2009. After a short break to start a family, HJ officially began her own business called Aerial Butterflies.
